“Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”- I don’t know if these words from Shakespeare are really worth of verifying. However, these words were only lingering in ears when I completed the last page of the ‘Monk who sold his Ferrari’. When I came to know about the 90-10 principle of “Steven Covey” from my faculty, I murmured, “Does it really happen to everyone?” I introspected and found nothing but few heaps of despair. After completion of the book written by Robin Sharma, I was filled with utmost joy.

The book started in the plot where two friends- Julian Mantle and John had met after a long time. Both of them were from the field of law and had good friendship. However, the war of life had defeated one of them completely and it led him to the journey of eternal peace. His journey stopped in the terrain of Himalayan mountain ranges where the sages of Sivana took him to their heaven- a small secret place. The thirteen chapters have been designed to show how the learning of the heaven has changed the course of his life that he shared with his friend John.

Julian a famous litigator had everything in his life except peace. His wealth and fame reflected many times through the wordings of John. However, his flamboyant lifestyle gave him nothing but mental agony. His health deteriorated and he understood he was approaching towards an unwanted world. Suddenly with utmost surprise, he quit everything without any notice and returned after three years.

In the heaven of Sivana he met with Jogi Raman- the leader of the group of monks who shared his leanings about maintaining a healthy life through different techniques which not only improves the health but also mental status. These techniques are easy to practice but needs complete dedication to follow lifelong. With simple example and pictures, the implications of these techniques were illustrated. Dexterity of Robin Sharma reflected with the meticulous painting of the learning of Mr. Julian. Everyone must have an agenda or purpose of existence in this world, as we are what we think. Therefore, our success depends how we cultivate ourselves to grow in life; how much we introspect in order to transcend.
