  • Posted by VIBGYOR@VJIM

The Republic Day of India is a national holiday of India to mark the adoption of the constitution of India and the transition of India from a British Dominion to a republic on January 26, 1950. It is one of the three national holidays in India.

Although India obtained its independence on August 15, 1947, it did not yet have a permanent constitution; instead, its laws were based on the modified colonial Government of India Act 1935, and the country was a Dominion, with George VI as head of state and Earl Mountbatten as Governor General.

26th January is celebrated as India’s republic day. On this day the constitution of India was written & our nation became a truly sovereign state. Republic day is accepted as the national festival & people celebrate the day with much enthusiasm & joy. Although it is celebrated all over India but the day has its own value in Delhi. In capital the eve is start with the Presidential to the nation. The award ceremony is also held, in which medals are given to the armed forces for their bravery & exceptional courage.

Every year, in the honor of this day a grand parade is organized in Delhi, which held from Rashtrapati Bahwan to India gate. The ceremony of march past is also held which includes the soldiers of arm forces, navy forces & air forces. School students also give their performance in the function, which covers folk dance, patriotic songs drills & other activities.

The Republic day parade is the combination of all the states of country. Each state represents its culture & we find whole India together. The parade ceremony & all the other events are telecasted on national television & are watched by each Indian in every corner of nation.

Wish all of you a very happy Republic Day.

“INTROSPECT TO TRANSCEND” By Ramkrishna Datta

  • Posted by VIBGYOR@VJIM

“Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”- I don’t know if these words from Shakespeare are really worth of verifying. However, these words were only lingering in ears when I completed the last page of the ‘Monk who sold his Ferrari’. When I came to know about the 90-10 principle of “Steven Covey” from my faculty, I murmured, “Does it really happen to everyone?” I introspected and found nothing but few heaps of despair. After completion of the book written by Robin Sharma, I was filled with utmost joy.

The book started in the plot where two friends- Julian Mantle and John had met after a long time. Both of them were from the field of law and had good friendship. However, the war of life had defeated one of them completely and it led him to the journey of eternal peace. His journey stopped in the terrain of Himalayan mountain ranges where the sages of Sivana took him to their heaven- a small secret place. The thirteen chapters have been designed to show how the learning of the heaven has changed the course of his life that he shared with his friend John.

Julian a famous litigator had everything in his life except peace. His wealth and fame reflected many times through the wordings of John. However, his flamboyant lifestyle gave him nothing but mental agony. His health deteriorated and he understood he was approaching towards an unwanted world. Suddenly with utmost surprise, he quit everything without any notice and returned after three years.

In the heaven of Sivana he met with Jogi Raman- the leader of the group of monks who shared his leanings about maintaining a healthy life through different techniques which not only improves the health but also mental status. These techniques are easy to practice but needs complete dedication to follow lifelong. With simple example and pictures, the implications of these techniques were illustrated. Dexterity of Robin Sharma reflected with the meticulous painting of the learning of Mr. Julian. Everyone must have an agenda or purpose of existence in this world, as we are what we think. Therefore, our success depends how we cultivate ourselves to grow in life; how much we introspect in order to transcend.
